Raytheon is seeking a Test Equipment Design Engineer (Test Development Engineer II) to join the Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department. This role focuses on electrical design and software automation to develop, build, and integrate advanced test platforms and architectures. You will join a project team developing test solutions and architectures for Raytheon programs, including analog / digital, RF, High Power, and embedded software / firmware design activities. Test architectures include customized and COTS Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), plus custom electro-mechanical fixtures and interface cabling.

This role is 100% onsite in Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

  • Develop test hardware, software, and / or firmware from requirements through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities (spanning Power, RF, Analog, Digital).
  • Identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Guide mechanical engineering and / or suppliers through test adapter design activities with moderate senior guidance.
  • Work effectively in a team or as an individual contributor with limited supervision.
  • Engage in personal technical growth.
  • Prepare and present your work at project status meetings.
  • Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience in electrical engineering design and / or software automation concepts.
  • U.S. Citizen with active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date; ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance is required.
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated experience with electrical engineering design concepts.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working as a member of a team.
  • Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows / CVI, and / or LabVIEW.
  • Experience with Digital, Analog, RF, and / or Power Supply test hardware and / or software design.
  • Experience with routine use and / or automation of commercial test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, power supplies).
