Trust Tax Administrator

Provide accurate and timely tax information to customers. Assist in the collection of tax information necessary for proper reporting of tax information to customers and to federal and state authorities. Act as a liaison between Associated colleagues and tax preparer. Primary responsibility is to assist Trust Tax team members to file all federal and state income tax returns, pay tax balances due, collect tax refunds and process federal and state estimated tax payments in a timely manner.

Job Accountabilities

• Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients, acting as a resource for tax-related questions and training new hires on trust tax software.
• Monitor, track, and ensure accurate filing of all federal and state fiduciary tax returns.
• Act as a liaison between tax preparers, Relationship Managers, and administrative staff to gather necessary information for tax filings.
• Review daily transaction reports and ensure the accuracy of tax coding and documentation.
• Handle responses to tax authority correspondence, researching and resolving issues as needed.
• Process estimated payments, tax balances due, and refunds in a timely and compliant manner.
• Stay informed on changes in fiduciary and estate tax law and update internal procedures accordingly.
• Track and process backup withholding for foreign beneficiaries using IRS Form 1042.
• Review and coordinate processing of K-1s, 1099s, and other external tax documentation.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Accounting or Business Administration Required

Experience

2-4 years Tax / Accounting Required

4-6 years Tax / Accounting Preferred
