Job Description

The Operating Room Technician, under the general supervision of the OR Manager / Surgery Center Manager, is a key member of the OR Team. The technician will work collaboratively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists, and other ancillary support personnel. The primary function of this role is to scrub for surgical cases while also managing instruments, supplies, medications, media, specimens, and instrument cases.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons and other surgical team members during operations.
  • Handle and arrange surgical instruments and supplies needed for procedures.
  • Manage the necessary medication and media as directed by the surgical team.
  • Document and communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding instruments and cases.
  • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Cardiovascular and open heart experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License or State ID.
  • Completion of Bassett Core Competencies and Skills Checklist.
  • Physical health statement and necessary immunizations as outlined by onboarding requirements.
