Sanitation Technician Job Description
Reports to : Quality Manager
COMPANY OVERVIEW : Eagle Beverage, a fast growing specialty beverage manufacturer in Kent, WA, focuses on private label syrups, cocktail mixers and beverage powders. Manufacturing since 1972, the company has over 500 SKUs of products and is looking for a dynamic, energetic and committed Sanitation Technician.
GENERAL SCOPE : The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the Company's food processing equipment and processing areas to ensure safe and wholesome products for human consumption. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepping, Mixing and Filling Areas-Syrup and Powders
- Tanks, Fillers, Blenders, Mixer, Table Tops-Underside / Shelves, Conveyors, Conveyor Belts-Top / Underside, Equipment Consoles, Pumps, Stainless Steel Piping Lines (Overhead and on the Floor)
- Drains, Floors and Walls
- Utensils, Utility Carts, Powder Bins / Tubs / Lids, Storage Bins, Storage Tubs
- Sinks, Fans, Hoses, Hose Nozzles
- Outlying Areas-Windows, Electrical Outlets, Piping Covers, Boiler Units, Water Heaters
- Other areas as needed / assigned
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily, weekly and monthly master sanitation schedulesAbility to accurately follow written SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)Sweep production areas as necessary and remove debrisWipe down all prepping, mixing and filling areas dailyEnsure proper safety gear is clean and accessible for employees using the cleaning chemicalsRecord sanitation and verify records kept for the sanitizer used on food contact surfaces (titration of cleaning and sanitizing solutions)Monitor surfaces of cleaned / sanitized equipment using ATP, Allergen Swabs, other as neededReduce cross contamination between processing areas-powder / bottling and warehouse and office areasInput for updating written SSOPs for daily, weekly and monthly reviewEnsure proper use / storage of cleaning and sanitation chemicalsRecord keeping and monitoringMonitor suppliesEnsure the company is compliant with all regulatory state, federal and independent auditory programsREQUIREMENTS
Experience in food manufacturing companies with SQF, BRC or AIB certificationDetail oriented and good organizational skillsFamiliar with chemical use and applicationKnowledge / understanding of basic chemistry and microbiologyKnowledge of mechanics, equipmentKnowledge of dry and liquid weights and household measurementsComputer literate in Word and ExcelGood math skillsDaily, weekly and monthly sanitationRecord keeping and monitoringMonitor suppliesAbility to drive a forklift or be trained / certified to operate a forkliftAbility to operate a manual or electric pallet jackKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Able to work under limited supervision.Physically able to safely lift materials and products weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.Comfort with taking direction and constructive coaching.Authorized to work in the US.I also understand the following software programs may be required during my tenure :
