Location

This position is onsite at the Adrian Service Center located in Adrian, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Associate Forester is responsible for providing forestry services to the Company. This includes conducting tree inventories, developing tree removal specifications, and overseeing tree removal activities. Additionally, the Associate Forester is tasked with creating and implementing vegetation management plans, as well as performing tree risk assessments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with storm restoration efforts alongside non-company crews for both HVD and LVD systems.
  • Interact with customers regarding internal and external concerns, ensuring all issues are brought to final resolution.
  • Collaborate with other departments within CE to cross-train and learn various forestry best practices.
  • Manage multiple assigned projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met and regularly reviewing project status with the Forestry Supervisor. Perform quality control checks on completed projects as directed.
  • Conduct on-site visits to company assets located on customer properties to assess tree health, identify potential risks, and recommend solutions. Prepare detailed reports that outline findings and recommendations for each site.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing expert consulting services related to tree risk assessment, tree inventory, tree valuation, and tree removal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of tree biology and tree risk assessment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and GIS software.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resources or related field.
  • (OR) Associate's degree in forestry, natural resources or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience.
  • (OR) High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience.
