A day in this role
In Dowagiac, MI, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping our operation moving. Your day might start with a preventive maintenance walk-through, tuning a VFD for smoother motor control, and reviewing overnight logs for any PLC faults. By mid-morning, you could be troubleshooting a conveyor jam, swapping a servo motor encoder, or repairing a piece of heavy equipment to restore uptime. In the afternoon, you might perform HVAC / R diagnostics to stabilize temperatures and humidity, complete machine safety inspections, and verify that work on 120 / 208 / 240 / 480 VAC systems meets our safety standards. You’ll wrap up by documenting fixes, updating PM plans, and collaborating with teammates to plan tomorrow’s improvements.
What you'll do
- Build and execute preventive maintenance programs that boost reliability and reduce downtime.
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to keep production on schedule.
- Maintain, service, and troubleshoot HVAC / R systems for consistent performance.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting to quickly identify root causes and resolve issues.
- Work safely on 120 / 208 / 240 / 480 voltage systems with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Complete machine safety inspections and maintain compliance with workplace regulations.
- Use Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) to optimize motor efficiency and control.
- Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in automated environments.
- Maintain and repair conveyor systems for smooth product flow.
- Service and troubleshoot servo motors to maximize precision and uptime.
What you bring
Proven success as a maintenance technician or similar role in an industrial setting.Experience building preventive maintenance plans from the ground up.Hands-on background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.HVAC / R knowledge, including diagnostic and repair skills.Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Comfort working with 120 / 208 / 240 / 480 VAC.Familiarity with machine safety inspections and related regulations.Knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, conveyor systems, and servo motors.Attention to detail, safety-first mindset, and solid communication skills.Proficiencies we value
