Insight Global is looking for a Sustaining Engineer to support a power electronics defense contractor local to Anaheim, CA. This role involves a mix of design, analysis, and troubleshooting of power electronics systems. This engineer will conduct circuit-level simulations and design modifications to address outdated product issues. They will also be hands-on, troubleshooting production and field failures, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and generating required reports. This position may require travel field service teams and provide technical troubleshooting efforts. (~less than 15% of the year).

Power Electronics design or test experience is a major plus. (Experience power aspects such as rectifiers, DC link bus, power planes, Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETS, IGBTs, transformers, H bridges, etc.)
Knowledgeable with AutoCAD to create / edit top level drawings and wiring diagrams.
Experience with Product Life Management (PLM) software such as Oracle Agile PLM or equivalent
Available to provide engineering support during field installation.
Perform site survey to analyze the facility for future STS installation (location / obstruction / cable layouts, etc.)
Knowledgeable with OrCAD schematic capture tools or equivalent.
Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
Hardware schematic design and circuit-level simulation experience.
Hardware component replacement and redesign experience.
Exemplary communication and documentation abilities (Ability to work with cross-functional teams and document necessary engineering changes).
Hands-on experience leading the troubleshooting of failed products in production, manufacturing, and testing utilizing equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies / Meters, Multimeters, etc.
Experience developing BOM for hardware designs and generating Engineering Change Requests / Orders (ECR / ECO).
Experience developing engineering test-related documentation / reports such as FAT (factory acceptance test procedures / reports) and SAT (site acceptance test procedures / reports).
