As a Tax Resource Management Coordinator, you will work closely with our Tax leadership team to ensure optimal allocation of resources, monitor team utilization, and support successful delivery of client engagements. This role focuses on understanding staffing needs, balancing workloads, monitoring utilization, and coordinating resources so that tax projects are delivered on time, efficiently, and in alignment with client and firm expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Tax leaders and managers to assess resource requirements for ongoing and upcoming engagements, including compliance, provision, and consulting projects. Assign staff strategically based on skills, experience, availability, and career development goals.
  • Monitor staff availability and utilization, balancing workloads across deadlines, busy seasons, and consulting projects. Proactively plan for seasonal peaks to ensure adequate coverage and prevent over- or under-allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of staffing assignments, track utilization and capacity, and generate regular and ad hoc reports and analyses to inform leadership on resourcing trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for the Tax team to address resourcing questions and facilitate communication between resource management, engagement managers, and staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resource allocation workflows and processes to increase efficiency, enhance team satisfaction, and support employee development.
  • Ensure all resource assignments comply with firm policies and procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation for reporting and review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in resource management, project coordination, or staffing within a professional services, consulting, or tax environment.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including busy season peaks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and levels.
  • Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with resource management, scheduling, or project management software (e.g., Microsoft, Workday, Dayshape and CCH Axcess Workflow / XCM or similar platforms).

    Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Illinois residents, the compensation range for this position : $24.00 - $29.00 / HR. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
