Position Information
TxDOT's Bridge Division is looking to hire a Bridge Geotechnical Engineer I, II, III, or IV based in Austin, TX that is interested in being part of the team that supports bridge, retaining wall, slope, and scour remediation projects across Texas. In the Bridge Division – Geotechnical Branch, we work together to create in-house plans to design and repair bridge foundations, retaining walls, and slopes, provide field construction support, implement research, develop bridge standards, and set geotechnical design policy. You will have the opportunity to conduct geotechnical engineering work, using current industry and TxDOT specifications, that serves the 25 Districts and the state of Texas as we advance design and construction practices by implementing new innovations and technology.
This position is for one or more Transportation Engineer I, II, III or IV depending on business need and the applicant's qualifications.

Transportation Engineer I :
Performs geotechnical engineering in the functional areas of design, construction, and maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Transportation Engineer II :
Performs complex geotechnical engineering in the functional areas of design, construction, and maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Transportation Engineer III :
Performs advanced and complex geotechnical engineering in the functional areas of design, construction, and maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Transportation Engineer IV :
Performs highly advanced and complex geotechnical engineering in the functional areas of design, construction, and maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science accepted by TX PELS.
Experience
Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
