job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in an 11 room, 16 bed Pediatric unit within an acute care hospital Level II Trauma Center setting Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 00 to 6 : 30 Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Floating required within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed Patient population includes pediatric MedSurg and stepdown / telemetry cases Uses Cerner EMR and experience is required Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients across a range of medical and stepdown / telemetry needs Support includes breastfeeding, IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and wound care Must work two out of three major holidays during the assignment Scrub color is any solid color No restrictions on local candidates First-time travelers are accepted Must not have worked as a perm or PRN employee of the health system within the past 12 months No parking cost; parking permit required and arranged during orientation Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved; more than 5 days may require facility approval Modules to be completed virtually on the first day Active IL RN license in hand at time of application or active application with ETA Minimum 2 years of pediatric RN experience Current BLS and PALS certification from AHA or Red Cross (RQI not accepted) Experience with pediatric MedSurg, stepdown, and telemetry required Skills required include hyperbilirubinemia and insulin administration, breastfeeding support and handling, gavage feedings, oral / nasogastric tube placement, peripheral IV line care and phlebotomy, pediatric dosage calculations, oral / nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound assessment / care Experience with Cerner charting system required High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
