The Technical Writer will be responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of all program deliverables meet government standards and contractual requirements. This role focuses on technical writing, editing, and organizing documentation for a variety of deliverables, including logistics plans, configuration management, monthly reporting, and technical orders. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with program managers, subject matter experts, and clients to ensure clarity, compliance, and consistency across all project documentation.
Responsibilities
Documentation Development :
- Assist in preparing, writing, and editing deliverables to ensure compliance with government standards, including ANSI GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-STD-1552, and other relevant requirements.

Configuration Management Plan
Monthly ReportingLogistics Plan (Tasks and Methodology)Facilities SectionEngineering Drawings for Provisioning (EDFP)Training Items SectionTechnical Orders (TOs)Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD) ListsSupport and Test Equipment (S&TE)Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) SectionRepair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL)Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) SectionContent Quality and Consistency :
Review and edit technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with client and government standards.Ensure all deliverables use appropriate technical language, formatting, and structure to meet contract specifications.Standards Compliance :
Verify documentation adheres to government and industry standards, ensuring all deliverables meet contractual and legal requirements.Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure compliance with required technical specifications.Collaboration and Communication :
Collaborate with project teams, including program managers, engineers, and logistics experts, to gather information and ensure deliverables meet project objectives .Maintain communication with VLinc and Shield AI to address questions about deliverables, report progress, and incorporate feedback.Process Improvement :
Develop templates and tools to streamline documentation creation and review processes.Identify opportunities for improving the clarity, consistency, and efficiency of technical writing efforts.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in a government or defense-related program.Strong understanding of government and industry standards for documentation, including ANSI GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL-STD formats.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Visio).Exceptional attention to detail, with experience in editing, formatting, and quality assurance.Familiarity with logistics , engineering, or systems support documentation is a plus.Work Environment and Conditions
This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel to VLinc or Shield AI facilities for document reviews, team meetings, or collaboration as needed. The role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
