Distribution Coordinator
The Distribution Coordinator is the main point of contact between the company and their customers' logistics personnel. They will manage the entire movement of product from origin to destination, including order placement, railcar transit, refinery / plant production monitoring, unloading monitoring and deal completion. The Coordinator is also the eyes and ears for the Marketer, providing insight and information as to how shipments are progressing and customers' unique production / usage fluctuations.
Duties and Responsibilities : (Essential functions are identified in bold and italicized text below.)
- Must work safely at all times.
- Submit orders to companies where product is to be loaded and tracking those cars once they are loaded to ensure they are received by the customer on-time, working with the railroads if loaded railcars are delayed.
- Track orders.
- Enter BOLs SRA, and file.
- Communicate with customer contacts know and understand customer shipping / switching schedules.
- Maintain an accurate shipment count on orders rail, truck, pipeline.
- Maintain an accurate count on outstanding orders rail, truck, pipeline.
- Track railcars to ensure proper movement.
- Resolve service issues (customer or rail / truck related).
- Maintain accurate freight rates in SRA.
- Maintain updated product posting prices.
- Proactively monitor and maintain proper shipping schedule for orders.
- Develop strong working relationships with customer's logistics personnel; provide excellent service to customers as the primary contact for all matters.
- Participate in bi-weekly rail meetings between transportation and marketing to provide up to date information on movements, as well as understand the big picture of Centennial's current business.
- Update monthly the railroad / trucking fuel surcharge sheet and send to appropriate users.
- Problem-solve on shipment issues between accounting and transportation / marketing.
- Alert customer and marketer if shipments are not following schedule.
- Adjust schedule to ensure successful order completion.
- Adjust empty car / truck arrival to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Provide bi-weekly order shipment updates to appropriate Marketers in decided upon format.
- Ensure railcar optimization through understanding of transit times and loading schedules.
- Develop a proficient understanding of Centennial's business and be able to understand the thought process which drives deal profitability optimization, and provide meaningful input.
- Enter BOLs into the system for railcars and trucks and prepare loading summaries for accounting and marketers' usage. Standard filing of this paperwork with customs and sending to customers as necessary.
- Enter freight rates and update these rates as necessary into the database system.
- Work with other Distribution Coordinators in the department as a member of a team to achieve department goals and objectives and cover other workload when they are on vacation or out ill.
- Other duties may be assigned according to business necessity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Strong analytical and problem solving-skills necessary to identify problems or areas for improvement and work to resolve those issues.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel.
Ability to work within the database system in order to create and utilize reports.
Must be accurate, well-organized, be able to prioritize and work under pressure.
Experience / Education :
High school diploma is required.
Some college, computer technology, business or accounting school / classes are desirable.
Physical Requirements :
Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.
May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing.
Walking and lifting are needed to carry out everyday activities.
Work Environment :
Tasks do not expose employee to physically unpleasant or hazardous conditions.
Compensation Range : Annual Salary : $65,000.00 - $90,000.00
