As an intern in our Substation Department, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the power utility industry and play a real role in shaping the future of energy. This internship is based at our Headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and will be an on-site role. The program is expected to run from mid-May through early August. Assist in creating and modifying one-lines, conduit schedules, bills of material (BOM), layouts, relay panel arrangements, existing steel drawings, and cable lists for high-voltage substations (32.4–500 kV). Prepare engineering and construction estimate documents, including yard layouts, plans, section views, and electrical details. Draft and edit technical specifications for substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and control houses. Collaborate with engineers on integrating protection, control, and monitoring systems. Contributing to a collaborative team, with the flexibility to step in and support other roles or duties as needed. Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum GPA 2.75). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear communicator with solid interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Excel and AutoCAD is a plus.
