Product Quality Engineer

Overview

US Conec is seeking a detail-driven Product Quality Engineer to champion product excellence across the lifecycle of precision-engineered components and assemblies. In this role, you'll develop, maintain, and improve quality standards and documentation for molded and assembled products. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to apply your expertise in dimensional inspection, process validation, and root cause analysis—ensuring our products meet the highest performance and reliability standards. Your work will directly support our mission to deliver world-class interconnect solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated dimensional inspection programs for molded and purchased components
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to design, qualify, and implement 3D-printed fixtures for inspection and assembly
  • Lead Engineering Test Run Evaluations (TREs), document results, and drive data-based quality decisions
  • Create and maintain SOPs, Process Instructions, and Work Instructions for manufacturing and quality operations
  • Facilitate root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality deviations
  • Apply statistical analysis and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC) to reduce product variation
  • Review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure seamless integration of design and process changes
  • Support Supplier Evaluation and Selection by assessing capabilities, QMS, and processes
  • Drive Supplier Quality improvements through collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage quality documentation including inspection reports, test data, and process capability studies

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 2–4 years of experience in quality engineering or a similar role
  • Experience with automated inspection and precision metrology equipment
  • Proficiency in SPC, FMEA, DMAIC, and other problem-solving methodologies
  • Working knowledge or certification in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel (~10%)

  • Experience supporting supplier quality and QMS audits
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments and inspection lab protocols
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments with molded or assembled components
