Position Description

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver and we want the right Trucker to join us in Rocky Mount, VA.

Pay and Benefits

  • Driver positions paid weekly
  • Solo Miles Pay : $0.61 per mile
  • Solo Stops Pay : $31.00 per stop
  • Jobsite deliveries : $50.00 per stop
  • Per Diem Pay : $65.00 per night; 3 - 5 layovers / week
  • Paid training
  • Schedule : varies; 34-hour reset at home
  • Start time : varies

Route and Equipment

  • Deliver SOLO to : Eastern Region / Some Midwest
  • Route : Regional with 3 - 5 layovers / week
  • Tractor type : Sleepers
  • Trailer type : 53' Dry Van
  • Freight : Touch – Windows & Doors

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle :

    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR

  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and / or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and / or procedures

    • Important Note

    Some positions may require additional screening including employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and / or customer-specific background requirements.

    Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detect and minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load / unload freight or assist with loading / unloading if required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
