OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide accounting services relative to the financial reporting for County to include monthly reconciliations and analysis to support financial statements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB

• Provides financial management for agency or departments as assigned.
• Within the ACCUFUND system enters bills and sends check report to County Treasurer for review.
• Maintains fixed asset report of the single audit.
• Researches and responds independently to general inquiries from department managers regarding accounting and budget questions.
• Assists with input, financial analysis, special projects, and surveys as required.
• Greets and assists general public by taking or providing information, receiving payments or directing them to proper locations.
• Assists in collecting or receiving monies due department and maintaining accurate related records of such collections.
• Prepares journal entries (including monthly entries such as postage) as directed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Batches / prepares vendor invoices, as necessary.
• Assists with the Payroll reconciliation and processes payroll check to the Treasurer biweekly.
• Assists Director and Fiscal Assistant with Quarterly and grant reporting, and Right to Know requests.
• Prepares biweekly checks and transfer report to Chief Clerk
• Handles assigned grant reporting.
• Prepares biweekly checks and transfer report to Chief Clerk.

Receives occasional instruction and supervision from Supervisor regarding daily work duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree with an accounting major or associate degree from an accredited college or university supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

Two years of prior budgeting and financial statement reporting, and analysis required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; or any acceptable combination of experience / training.
