Requirements

Responsibilities :

• Patient Assessment : Conduct preoperative assessments, review patient histories, and verify necessary documentation and consent.
• Operating Room Preparation : Ensure the operating room is properly set up, including arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Patient Positioning : Assist with positioning the patient safely and comfortably on the operating table.
• Sterile Environment Maintenance : Monitor and maintain a sterile field, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Intraoperative Support : Provide support to the surgical team by managing the flow of the procedure, documenting operative details, and responding to the needs of the surgical team.
• Supply Management : Ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Patient Advocacy : Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure.
• Communication : Coordinate and communicate with the surgical team, anesthesia team, and other healthcare professionals.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including surgical notes, times, counts, and specimens.
• Postoperative Care : Assist with the transfer of patients to the recovery room and provide postoperative instructions as needed.
• Compliance : Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as state and federal guidelines.
