Mobile MRI Technologist

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Contract Type : 12-month base + 4 option years

Facility Type : VA Medical Centers and Outpatient Clinics

Position Summary

We are seeking two experienced MRI Technologists to operate a mobile 1.5T MRI unit across designated West Texas VA Healthcare System locations. This role includes scanning services, patient safety oversight, and training of VA technical staff. The mobile unit will remain at each location for a minimum of six months and rotate as needed.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI scans in compliance with VHA Directive 1105.05 and WTVAHCS protocols
  • Complete MRI screening assessments and ensure signed orders are present
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and transmit exam data daily
  • Train VA staff on mobile MRI operations at no additional cost
  • Attend quarterly MRI Safety Committee meetings
  • Ensure mobile unit setup, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance
  • Respond to patient incidents and complete written reports as needed

    • Requirements\n\nARRT (MR) Certification or equivalent\n\nMinimum 2 years of MRI experience, preferably in mobile or VA settings\n\nCompletion of VA or equivalent MRI Safety Training (annual)\n\nFamiliarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and federal patient care regulations\n\nAbility to travel between VA sites (Big Spring, Abilene, San Angelo, Odessa, etc.)\n\nStrong communication and training skills
