Variable Compensation Territory Specialist
The Variable Compensation Territory Specialist will be part of a team and responsible for territory support and reporting of various business units. This role consists of assisting with the set-up of annual territory planning and account assignments while also supporting data entry and developing and maintaining reports using various technologies.
What You'll Do :
- Develop a proficiency in the retrieval and transformation of account ownership data from warehouse report spreadsheets, a data warehouse or database environment.
- Collaborate with Global Sales and Operations teams to define and execute on territory needs and design profitable territories that align with corporate services strategy and guidelines.
- Assist with design, development and modeling of territory assignments and enhancements to existing or new reports and dashboards specifically as it relates to territory planning / administration.
- Model potential scenarios related to allocation of services professionals (business development and account management executives), current clients and prospects.
- Understand the impact that territory design and account changes have on various sales and performance targets, crediting, and incentives and compensation.
- Drive global consistency by ensuring accurate data, accurate account assignments and support of the day-to-day territory assignment to support commission payments.
- Analyze internal and external data to identify trends and characterize market opportunity at various levels (e.g., region, industry, local area, company) to inform the corporate services strategy.
- Drive regular and ad-hoc analyses to inform decision-making of Gartner's leaders and C-level executives.
- Partner with internal Variable Comp teams to appropriately align territory design with quota to support accurate compensation.
- Run annual and monthly processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
- Establish and share best practices related to creating and optimizing territories.
What You'll Need :
1+ years' experience in sales and sales operations, consulting, analytics, variable compensation or strategy & operations.Exceptional analytical skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, etc. Analytical skills include running regression analysis, modeling scenarios, testing hypotheses, working with non-conforming data sets, and generating analytical insights.Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills to enable direct and frequent conversations with senior leaders in Gartner.Ability to work well both independently and on a team in a deadline driven environment.Ability to manage ambiguity and independently own projects from start to finish.Original / creative thinking and superior problem-solving abilities.Who You Are :
