This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You'll Work On

  • Material supply to production areas and related activities
  • Incoming material receipt and storage
  • GMP cleaning
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
  • Supply materials in a timely manner to the customer
  • Assist in the unloading of various materials
  • Effectively utilize the MITS (Material Inventory Tracking System) to locate and deliver items based on FEFO (First Expiration, First Out)
  • Effectively utilize MITS to accurately scan materials when moved materials are in the location they are scanned to
  • Must be able to read a production schedule and use to anticipate the needs of the customer
  • Drive a fork lift safely and effectively, moving a variety of load types, using various storage methods (stacking, drive-in racks, push back racks, etc) without damage to material or facility
  • Understand and adhere to all storage requirements including allergen, plastics, oils, etc.
  • Ability to work OT during the week and on weekends

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability to use a computer to perform the job duties
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL (commercial drivers license)
  • Must have ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced and constantly changing customer service driven environment
  • Flexible : position has an assigned shift; however, on occasion will be assigned to another shift for designated periods
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift on a regular and prolonged basis during the performance of job duties
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills, very good interpersonal skills, analytical troubleshooting skills, ability to multitask, and a very good team player
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritional products
  • 6 months or more experience in Material Control
  • Forklift experience
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

    The base pay for this position is $18.65 $37.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
