Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a perioperative role with on-call requirements and multi-specialty circulating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Operating Room environment serving a diverse patient population
  • Responsible for circulating in specialized areas including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN / OB, General, Ophthalmology, and Dental
  • 10-hour day shifts, four days a week (weekdays) with on-call rotation
  • High percentage of outpatient / ambulatory surgeries
  • Orientation provided every two weeks
  • Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of perioperative patients
  • Expected to participate in emergency cases on short notice during on-call hours
  • Opportunities to gain scrubbing experience are encouraged
  • Work in a culturally diverse, rural community serving Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute populations
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccine exemptions accepted with appropriate declination forms
  • Housing options may be available but must be arranged in advance; no family or pets allowed in housing
  • Fingerprinting required as part of pre-employment compliance

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license from any U.S. state or compact state
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum of two years clinical nursing and operating room experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • PALS certification required within six months of hire
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be completed within six months of hire
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification required within one year of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within two years of hire
