Travel Nursing Job Details

Job Title : Labor & Delivery RN – Travel Nurse

Location : Knoxville, TN 37916 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D), with float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) as needed

Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 19 / 2026)

On-Call : 36 hours every 6 weeks

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month

Orientation : 36 hours

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 in Labor & Delivery; Mother / Baby float 1 : 3 or 1 : 4

Charting System : Cerner

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active TN or compact state RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Required certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, NIHSS

Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred

Ability to float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) unit as needed

Prior travel nursing experience required

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Must be able to work every other weekend or 2 weekends per month

No time off requests during major holidays

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced L&D unit

Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery

Float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) unit as required by staffing needs

Administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and provide lactation support

Educate parents on newborn care, car seat safety, and discharge instructions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner

Participate in on-call rotation and adhere to weekend coverage requirements
