Position Details

Position Title : System Administrator I

Reports To : Information Technology Manager

Status : Hourly; Non-Exempt

Overview

The System Administrator I role is responsible for building, maintaining, and monitoring the computer systems, networks, and other equipment for Union State Bank. This role is tasked with solving technical issues and collaborating with team members across all departments to assist them with their technical requirements to ensure optimal performance so that employees can maintain a high level of productivity.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain computer systems and networks including hardware, software, VPNs, routers, firewalls and other infrastructure.
  • Install and configure network equipment to facilitate updates or fix hardware or software issues.
  • Responsible for adhering to bank security policies and information security best practices.
  • Maintain communication with IT leadership about issues related to IT systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support to end-users for hardware and software systems.
  • Resolve routine system and end-user issues in a timely manner through established protocol and troubleshooting; escalate as necessary.
  • Manage support tickets with MSP (Managed Service Provider) and other vendors.
  • Communicate with multiple vendor support staff and employees to ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist users in obtaining access to systems.
  • Provide IT support for tier 1 and tier 2 level issues and assistance in collaboration with vendors and department managers to ensure timely analysis and implementation of products and services.
  • Ongoing monitoring to assist management to ensure products are performing to bank expectations.
  • Make recommendations to management / leadership concerning possible methods to improve the department, processes, and / or bank overall.
  • Stay current through education on changes in technology, compliance, and internal procedures.
  • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned.

    Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school graduate / GED required. Some college level or military equivalent preferred.
  • Information Technology and / or helpdesk experience is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Understand Federal, State and Union State banking rules and regulations.
  • Bank related courses strongly recommended.
  • Specific Skills Required

Strong written and / or verbal communication skills. Must have good judgment and decision-making skills. Can adapt quickly and professionally to changing priorities. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task and maintain well-organized electronic files. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

    System Accesses

    This position will have access to most systems to perform administrative functions and technical support.

    Equipment Used

    Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, multi-function unit, etc.

    Working Conditions

    This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Frequent (over 20% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; Frequent travel between facilities will be required.
