Description : Summary :
Assists individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain employment. This includes supporting that individual in the new position while training on the jobsite and then providing follow-up services designed to help the individual maintain the position.

Work hours :
An ETS does not typically work traditional work hours. Although office hours are 8am-4pm Monday through Friday, work hours consistently involve evenings and weekends and are necessary to accommodate the needs of their clients. The hours can include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
Physical Demands
Standing, Sitting : both frequently
Bending, Crawling : infrequently
Use of fingers, hands, feet : frequently
Use of arms, legs : both frequently
Hearing : frequently, could use hearing aid (communication with clients & job site employees)
Vision : frequently, could use corrective lenses Near vision (computer-distance vision) Far vision (driving)
Speaking : frequently (communication with the public, clients, Arc staff)

Lifting, pushing, pulling : on occasion
Environmental Demands
Indoors / outdoors : Indoors frequently; outdoors on occasion if driving on the job or at an outdoor job site
Impact of inclement weather : Weather rarely impacts work.
Dirt, dust : Infrequent impact on job
Noise level : Variable depending upon the specific job sites of clients. Some hours spent in a typical office environment with low noise.
Moist / wet, dry : Variable depending upon specific job sites of clients. Not excessively wet or dry.
Hot, cold : Never excessively hot or cold; varies somewhat depending upon specific job sites of clients.
Accommodations
The employee is responsible for making the employer aware of the need for accommodation. The Arc will make accommodations to extent possible. Accommodations cannot impact the effectiveness of the employee and cannot cause undue business hardship to The Arc or its programs.
Requirements :
Education and Experience :
Minimum of high school diploma / GED plus two years vocational or human services work experience. Prefer college / technical school / university degree in the Human Services field plus, a minimum of 6 months of related work experience.
Knowledge :
Knowledge of appropriate means of communication and interaction with clients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, races and ethnicities, religions, etc. Knowledge of appropriate means of interacting and communicating with individuals with intellectual / developmental / physical disabilities. Mastery of English language, basic math skills, and typical office computer software.
Abilities :
Have highly refined people and organizational skills, be flexible in working non-traditional hours and a schedule that can change frequently and may occur on weekends and holidays. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; interpersonal skills that put people at ease; network with professionals from other organizations in the best interests of the client and The Arc : time management; work mostly independently; maintain confidentiality.
Other Requirements :
Pass background checks by PA State Police, FBI, child abuse clearance, and drivers report, have a current valid PA driver’s license
