Position Overview :

Client is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join it's Staff Counsel team. In this role, you will manage civil litigation cases of moderate complexity from inception to resolution, working closely with clients, adjusters, and claims professionals. You will also mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance on legal strategies and case evaluations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Independently manage and investigate civil litigation cases from start to finish
  • Meet with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Conduct pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed
  • Provide legal advice and case evaluations to clients and claims professionals
  • Negotiate settlements in alignment with company direction
  • Attend round tables and collaborate with team members
  • Mentor and develop junior attorneys

Qualifications :

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas with a valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Insurance defense jury trial experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and courtroom practices
  • Proficient in MS Word, Lexis / Westlaw, email, and calendar management
  • Excellent skills in advocacy, negotiation, and communication
  • Ability to make sound legal decisions in moderate to complex cases
  • Strong organizational, investigative, and legal research skills
  • Professional demeanor and courtroom decorum
  • Agile, adaptable, and willing to mentor and teach others
  • Work Environment :

  • Remote position with occasional on-site requirements
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be able to work extended hours (>
