Overview Senior Interior Designer position at Ford Motor Company. Based in Dearborn, you’ll be working in the Adventure Studio on Advanced & Production Interior projects, developing conceptual and production interior solutions through sketching, rendering, and 3D digital models.
Responsibilities Think creatively, strategically, and analytically to inform interior design concepts.
Create compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for design projects.
Coordinate the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions.
Create future brand focused design visions that span digital and physical (software and hardware).
Address topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments through design solutions.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or equivalent.
Automotive or Transportation Design experience; including experience with final design product execution.
Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design.
Ability to work independently and provide strong technical aesthetic judgment to lead team members.
Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics to ensure Ford competes with the ability to lead.
Demonstrated creative interior design perceptions and capability. A design portfolio (pdf) must be provided upon application.
Collaborate with Engineering, Suppliers and other partners to progress the design development.
Exceptional design intuition, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate through sketches and renderings.
Ability to translate 2D to 3D and think three-dimensionally with emphasis on proportions and form.
Familiarity with design trends across automotive, fashion, architectural, and related fields.
Strong teamwork, communication skills (visual, written, and verbal).
Experience presenting to executive audiences is a plus.
