Plumbing & Piping Estimator – Union Contractor

Location : Cypress, CA (Corporate Headquarters : 5950 Lakeshore Drive, Cypress, CA 90630)

We are a well-established Union Mechanical Contractor based in Orange County, California. Our focus is on delivering high-quality plumbing and piping solutions for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. With a strong commitment to excellence and integrity, we are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Piping Estimator to join our team.

Position Overview

As a Plumbing & Piping Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for union mechanical projects. The ideal candidate has proven experience in plumbing and piping estimation, strong knowledge of union labor rates, and the ability to work closely with our project management team to ensure successful bids.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed estimates.
  • Calculate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Develop proposals and bid packages in accordance with union requirements.
  • Work with project managers and field personnel to review scope, costs, and constructability.
  • Track and analyze historical cost data for continuous improvement in estimating.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, walk-throughs, and client presentations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing and piping estimation (union contractor experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Southern California building codes, union labor agreements, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with Trimble (AutoBid) estimating software is preferred.
  • Bluebeam / Adobe, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Cypress, CA (near our corporate headquarters).
