1. Plans, organizes, and conducts specialized group activities designed to motivate, stimulate and improve the
quality of life for facility residents.
2. Attempts to stimulate the creative talents, physical capabilities and cognitive skills of each resident to his / her
highest potential.
3. Conducts one-on-one individualized activities and sensory stimulation for those residents who do not actively
participate in group activities. (This includes those residents who were in their rooms or hall when group was
being held.)
4. Transports residents to area where programs are being conducted.
5. Provides resident supervision on the nursing unit and during activities held outdoors.
6. Documents resident's participation and progress.
7. Assists in conducting assessments with new admissions to document historical interests, hobbies, and abilities
as well as current limitations, prognosis, and family expectations. Obtains information from family members
when necessary.
8. Participates in family- attended Care Plan conferences as requested by Director of Therapeutic Recreation
Services.
9. Implements required programs, maintains thorough records, and supports the resident’s progress with
activities of daily living and other restorative programs.
10. Assists with supply inventory, planning of purchases for the department, and organization of the activity area.
11. Performs other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by Supervisor /
Administrator and or Director
