We are currently seeking a Patient Recruitment Lead to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Patient Recruitment Lead at ICON, you will play a critical role in driving patient recruitment strategies for clinical trials. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure that patient recruitment goals are met, while fostering positive patient experiences and contributing to the success of clinical research initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing :

You will be embedded and working exclusively within a Pharmaceutical Company as a Patient Recruitment and Retention Specialist (FSP).

OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE

  • Patient Recruitment and Retention's (PR&R) mission is to support study teams in planning for and achieving enrollment by developing creative patient and site engagement and recruitment strategies that use strategic partnerships, healthcare data, and technologies.
  • PR&R does this by working with internal and external teams to identify opportunities and challenges for recruiting and retaining patients into each study.
  • Once identified, the PR&R team collaborates with specialized patient recruitment vendors to support targeted strategies and manage campaign performance throughout enrollment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct early operational planning and research to evaluate competitive landscape, enrollment modeling, disease prevalence, site identification, and more.
  • Research diseases new to the Company (or update research on existing diseases) and compile disease briefings for the team.
  • Identify new potential vendors that offer creative solutions, maintain active CDAs, coordinate introductory calls between the vendor and PR&R team, and manage vendor qualification process.
  • Help manage relationships with existing vendors and ensure vendors are up to date on Company SOPs and training.
  • Work with internal groups including Procurement, Legal, QA&C, Patient Advocacy, and more.
  • Support trial-specific patient recruitment and retention efforts, working with Patient Recruitment & Retention team members to oversee strategy development and campaign execution.
  • Proof and edit materials during development and provide feedback on design elements and written content.
  • Help develop content such as presentations, articles, and newsletters.
  • Maintain team’s databases and run queries for teams.
  • Keep team process documents up to date and maintain team checklist.
  • Support team plans and special projects.
  • Help with miscellaneous administrative tasks related to the function.
  • EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS :

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience in patient recruitment and recruitment discipline within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, patient recruitment vendor or similar organization, or experience in health promotions or marketing.
  • Experience in rare disease / difficult to recruit populations.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and guidelines governing clinical research.
  • Able to improve timelines, cost, and quality.
  • Communicate recommendations after careful consideration of courses of action, decision support data, and experience in trial optimization.
