Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience : Ph.D. (3+ yrs), M.S. (7+ yrs), or B.S. (10+ yrs) in lab testing, with 2+ yrs in leadership.
  • Expertise in polymeric / composite materials and ASTM testing standards.
  • Skilled in analytical techniques : FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA, EDX, rheology.
  • Proficient in weathering and mechanical testing (e.g., tensile, impact, tear, dimensional stability).
  • Strong understanding of the structure property relationship of thermoplastics.
  • Knowledge of thermal, mechanical, chemical and physical properties testing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Team and lab management experience
  • Strong understanding of the structure property relationship of thermoplastics.
  • Knowledge of thermal, mechanical, chemical and physical properties testing
  • Experience in residential roofing or building and construction industry
  • OSHA safety training or laboratory safety certification preferred.
  • Statistical training in DOE and ANOVA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and / or data visualization software - Strong data reporting and communication skills. - Knowledge of SOPs, regulatory compliance, and quality / customer focus.

    Insight Global is looking for a Laboratory manager for one of our clients to sit on their new manufacturing plant in McDonough, GA. Insight Global is seeking an experienced and highly organized Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our in-house testing laboratories which supports R&D, production, and customer sampling / testing projects. This role will be responsible for managing both the Physical Properties Testing and the Analytical Testing Labs ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all testing efforts to support R&D, product development, quality assurance, and certification activities. This is a critical leadership position, ideal for a hands-on manager with a strong technical background in plastics and building materials, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to laboratory excellence and safety. This position reports to the Director of Material Engineering and will lead a highly talented team of technicians.
