About The Position

The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The technologist ensures accurate image quality, maintains radiation safety standards, and provides compassionate care to patients during imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.

Operate X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment safely and efficiently.

Position patients properly to obtain accurate diagnostic images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Review and verify physician orders prior to procedures and ensure appropriate documentation in the imaging system.

Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control standards when applicable.

Monitor and care for patients during imaging procedures, recognizing and reporting any changes in condition.

Ensure proper radiation safety procedures for patients, staff, and self at all times.

Maintain imaging equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly and ensuring readiness for use.

Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications (Legally Required)

California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) Required

California Fluoroscopy Permit Required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not current)

BLS (Basic Life Support) Required (American Heart Association)

Venipuncture Certification Required if administering contrast media

Minimum 2 years of X-Ray or Radiologic Technologist experience Required
