JOB PURPOSE
The Strategy & Project Management Unit is under the Smart Factory Department in the Digital Innovation Division. The purpose of the division is to lead the digital transformation and innovation efforts in the N.A. region. Our division supports product development, manufacturing and business. The Strategy & Project Management Unit focuses on managing the local, regional and global innovation projects being led within the division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Strategy Management : Create strategic proposals and road mapping to achieve business unit goals. Develop, maintain, and / or apply standard project management flows (agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.) based on a project assessment and its specific requirements. Collaboration and clear communication with cross-functional teams, data platform owners, and business stakeholders to maintain relationships and project progression. Collaboration and clear communication with external vendors and consultants to correlate project activities and deliverables both internally and externally. Collaborate with Japan to coordinate activities and long-term goals of projects according to directives from the Digital Global Organization and N.A. Digital Strategy.
- Resource Management : Support hiring and create a team to execute the goals of the business unit. Manage the daily activities of team members engaged in the coordination / implementation of all initiatives, prioritizing assignments, monitoring / evaluating work progress, providing mentoring / back-up as needed, addressing performance / associate relations issues, and managing activities including performance reviews, reviewing, and approving time sheets and time off requests. Collaborate with Dept Lead to develop, plan, and implement strategic direction for the team including defining department budget / staffing needs, selection, and assessment criteria, actively participating in the hiring process, and creating / maintaining operational policies / procedures. Assign resources to projects based on associate experience and skillset balanced with business priorities and ROI. Direct and track the manpower required to support Division and R-theme projects. Perform mentoring and the development of team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Project Management : Lead global / regional engineering projects to develop new solutions for engineering and / or manufacturing processes through digital innovation / application methods. Project management of new themes and digital solutions including implementation of management directed tools and strategies. Evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve engineering and / or manufacturing processes and align business planning themes to create development projects. Set clear KPIs, project targets, schedule, tasks and R&Rs to achieve project goals. Report on project status and prepare / present documents for executive evaluation. Provide support and guidance to move activities forward, help remove blockers and solve issues. Serve as internal evaluator for engineering projects managed within the team.
