EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements)Pharmacy Technician license / certification / registration (per state requirements)National Certification required (PTCB)APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Administration by Pharmacy Tehcnicians certification preferredJOB KNOWLEDGE :
1+ years of related experience (technical knowledge / skills may substitute for experience) preferredBasic computer skills required, with ability to learn new software systemsBasic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages, quantities and volumesAbility to work independently and deliver to deadlinesGreat attention to detail and accuracyAbility to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlinesQuality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire about inaccuraciesATTRIBUTES :

Prepare prescription orders by entering prescription data, verifying information, and pulling appropriate prescriptions from inventory.Apply labels to medication packaging, scan and assemble into appropriate bins in an accurate and timely manner.Alert pharmacist on duty of any medication that is not scanning properly.Participate in training and development activities to gain proficiency in other Data Entry & Fulfillment workflow areas.Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supply of medication available to complete all orders.Assist in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels, including removing expired or unused meds, marking used bottles and keeping inventory neat and arranged in-order. May assist in physical inventory.Consistently meet pharmacy's established accuracy and productivity levels.Work collaboratively with other supervisors / functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently. This may require supporting MDH’s Inpatient Pharmacy, when needed.Maintain clean and orderly workstation. Put medications away and replenish all stock supplies needed.Resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations, and providing patient support with various forms of financial assistance.Off-site visits to clinics, delivery locations, long-term care facilities, sister pharmacies, other departments, or community events may be required to facilitate timely patient care and community outreach.Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the dispensing of prescription medications.Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating nights, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays.PI9e40d86d4300-30511-38699395
