We are seeking a Sacramento Area- Project Manager with strong estimating expertise to oversee the communication, planning, and installation of contracted projects from initial customer inquiry through final delivery. This role plays a pivotal part in accurately estimating job costs, defining project scope, and ensuring that each project is executed efficiently, safely, and profitably.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to prepare, evaluate, and finalize estimates that align with company standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-Construction
- Lead the estimating process from initial customer inquiry to final quote approval.
- Work with internal sales teams to define project scope, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost estimates.
- Prepare and review comprehensive project estimates including labor, materials, equipment rentals, permits, and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct detailed site visits to gather data for accurate bids and confirm pre-construction requirements.
- Provide final approval for customer quotes, ensuring profitability and compliance with company standards.
- Communicate with customers to review estimates, clarify scope, and address any questions prior to contract approval.
- Evaluate historical project data and market pricing to refine estimating accuracy and improve forecasting.
Project Management & Execution
Coordinate with internal departments to confirm labor and equipment availability prior to scheduling installations.Develop and approve project schedules and crew assignments, ensuring efficient resource allocation.Obtain necessary permits and coordinate inspections to ensure full regulatory compliance.Lead weekly progress meetings with customers to review updates, address challenges, and ensure client satisfaction.Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and financial performance to maintain profitability throughout the project lifecycle.Conduct quality assurance checks and provide final job site inspections prior to project sign-off.Oversee timesheets and labor compliance in accordance with California labor laws and company policies.Maintain records of material usage, inventory, and tool tracking to support accurate cost management.Team Leadership & Compliance
Supervise and support installation crews to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and project timelines.Ensure all employee certifications and permits remain current and compliant with industry regulations.Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of field technicians to build a skilled, efficient team.Deliver detailed project completion reports, including cost summaries, photos, and performance metrics.Qualifications
4 years in estimating and project management within the HVAC, electrical, or construction industry.Strong understanding of cost control, takeoffs, and bid preparation.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Proficiency in project management or estimating software preferred.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.Benefits :
