Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of hospital MRI experience and ARRT MRI certification for an overnight hospital-based role.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital MRI department covering both ER and inpatient populations
Night shifts scheduled from Friday to Monday, 8 PM to 6 AM
No call required for this position
Use of Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) preferred
Knowledge of workflows, procedures, and safety processes related to MRI imaging modalities required
Responsible for daily MRI modality operations and performing MRIs according to established protocols
Works closely under the direction of Radiologists and other physicians
Provides direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedures
Applies magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risks
Confirms quality and accuracy of patient and procedural data
Selects proper MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters according to protocols
Troubleshoots equipment in case of malfunction and reports issues to maintenance
Assists with training and education of new staff and MRI students
Pass / fail EKG testing required on first day with two attempts permitted and study guides provided
Requirements
Current ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required or must obtain within one year of hire
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
Minimum 1 year of MRI experience in a hospital setting preferred
Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
Experience with PACS and Epic EHR preferred
Must be able to perform IV injections and administer magnetic contrast agents
No candidates within a 50-mile radius eligible for consideration
License required if applicable
