Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital assignment, requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and a current state license.
Responsibilities
Work in a short term acute care hospital setting providing therapy services across medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology unitsPrimary focus is on inpatient patient careMonday through Friday day shifts from 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm, with flexible start times up to 8 : 00 amRequired to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks, receiving a day off during the applicable weekFloating required within any therapy service line in the facilityNo floating to sister facilitiesNo on-call requiredUses EPIC for charting; EPIC experience requiredBlack or grey scrubs requiredAssignment length is 13 weeksResponsibilities include assessments, documentation, patient and family education, and implementing safety and injury prevention strategiesRole involves working with a broad variety of patient populations and conditionsFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionOrientation is provided at the start of the assignmentParking options are available with monthly passes provided during orientationPermanent former employees must wait 1 year before returning as a travelerTravelers can stay for up to 18 months with a subsequent 3 month break required, or 12 months for allied staff with a 6 month breakMust pass fit testing, with facial hair requirements for mask sealNo local candidates are accepted within a 75 mile radiusRequirements
Valid state license for the assignment location is required; license required if applicableBLS certification is requiredMinimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experienceExperience across a variety of patient populations and clinical specialties is preferredStrong communication skills requiredAbility and willingness to float within service lines as neededMust reside outside a 75 mile radius of the facilityEPIC charting experience requiredNo RTO permitted during the first week of assignmentNo more than 7 days of RTO permitted within a 13 week contractBenefits
