SUMMARY
The Industrial Electrician installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery / equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Designs and installs new electrical control panels
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components of industrial equipment
- Understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions
- Install, repair and inspect various industrial electrical machinery and systems
- Run diagnostic tests and troubleshooting for electrical and mechanical machinery
- Perform preventative services such as replacing wiring and oiling parts of machinery
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as PLCs, drives, control panels, transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
- Tests malfunctioning equipment and discusses findings with operators, cell managers and engineers to support day to day operations
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, drives, PLC's, components, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
- Connects power supply wires to machine and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment per industry standard and electrical codes
- Will troubleshoot to best correct immediate situation and develop long term solutions to prevent reoccurrence
- Communicates with and support internal customers (Operator, Supervisor, Equipment Owner, others) in a clear, timely and complete manner
- Will act and work as a professional to provide world class service to all internal customers to build trusted partnerships
- Will be directly involved is continuous improvement activities of processes in all departments to improve performance and meet company goals
- Must work safely at all times and follow company, corporate, and regulatory safety practices
- Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Vocational certificate in electrical maintenance, electronics or related field and 10+ years' directly related work experience; OR High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years' directly related work experienceJourneyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship programKnowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E requiredAwareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.Ability to understand piping and instrument diagrams, electrical one line drawings, electrical equipment and system schematics, electrical as built drawings, electrical manuals and tablesKnowledge of Relay Logic, HIM's, motor driven motion control systems, electrical systems and power feeds for equipment and systems. Able to function as a subject matter expert in electrical troubleshooting and electrical construction and installation of equipmentSelf-Directed, able to function as part of a team or independently in a fast-paced department. As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
