Job Description
Miller Electric, an ITW company, is seeking a Sustaining Engineer Manager to join the Precision Welding Solutions team. As the Sustaining Engineer Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing and facilitating the growth of your team, supporting existing product offerings, and delivering on operational excellence initiatives.
You will lead sustaining engineering efforts while collaborating with new production development engineering, materials, operations, and service teams.
Miller Electric has a diverse portfolio of welding equipment and accessories. In this role, you will help maintain our position as an industry leader.
Essential Functions
- Develop and foster the growth of your engineering team.
- Enhance skills by providing resources, coaching, and professional development support.
- Build relationships by making key connections, breaking down communication barriers, and applying ITW principles : Shared Risk, Integrity, Respect, and Trust.
- Align goals by creating cohesive, achievable, and actionable objectives in line with organizational aims.
- Streamline processes by optimizing workflows, encouraging collaboration, and eliminating non-value-adding activities.
- Support manufacturing by providing solutions and implementing changes.
- Ensure product quality and warranty by maintaining reliability and design intent throughout the product lifecycle.
- Verify material conformance and availability, providing supply chain solutions as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by supporting customers and service teams effectively.
- Manage product lifecycle risks related to introduction, maturity, and service.
- Maintain product design and compliance with relevant standards, roadmapping regulatory changes and strategies.
- Support operational excellence initiatives such as strategic sourcing, cost optimization, design for manufacturing and assembly, and safety culture development.
