Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 20 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Travel RN Med-Surg / Renal - Unit : 21-Bed Renal / Medical-Surgical Shift : 36 hrs / week | 7 : 00 PM 7 : 30 AM | Every other weekend required Facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join their busy 21-bed Renal Med-Surg unit specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. This high-acuity unit manages a diverse patient population requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate is confident in managing renal-related complications while thriving in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover. Key Responsibilities : Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders Requirements : Active Ohio RN license (required ) Current BLS certification Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience (renal experience strongly preferred) Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips Competency test required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination Epic EMR proficiency (mandatory, no training provided) Lack of Epic proficiency results in immediate termination.
