American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 48-hour / week ICU position requiring TNCC, Epic proficiency, and prior travel nursing experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 39-bed mixed ICU caring for medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patientsTypical diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, COVID, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgical, and multiple system traumaCardiac experience with CABG / TAVR patients is preferred but not requiredNurse-to-patient ratios vary from 1 : 1, 1 : 2, and rarely 1 : 3 based on acuity48-hour work weeks with 12-hour day shiftsWeekend rotation every other weekend, though not guaranteedNo on-call responsibilitiesFloating is rare but possible to adult Medsurg / Tele units with up to 1 : 4 ratiosUses Epic EMR and Alaris / Baxter pumps, transitioning to Baxter by OctoberWill work collaboratively within a supportive ICU team including nurse aides, charge nurses, intensivists, APPs, and respiratory therapistsOrientation includes a hospital session plus one 12-hour and one 8-hour ICU shiftNavy scrubs requiredNo RTO approved during holidays or Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks of August)Free parking is providedICU RNs may be required to float to the Emergency DepartmentFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this positionThis is a traveler-friendly environment and extensions are encouraged\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license and completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursingBLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required (TNCC must be obtained before arrival if not already held)Minimum 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience strongly preferred; 1.5 years considered with extensive additional RN experience outside ICUEpic charting experience requiredExperience with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, ventilator management, proning, telemetry, and strong assessment skillsExperience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT equipment is strongly preferredMust have completed at least one prior travel assignmentCandidates must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facilityFormer permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
