The Director position is responsible for overseeing the performance of AECS teams and ensuring functional objectives and strategic goals are met. The Director is responsible for the Department and / or Team Leaders whose teams supervise outside assets and communications for all US branch and home office associates. The Director ensures supervisory responsibilities are executed effectively, in alignment with industry regulations and firm policies, through leadership and accountability for team performance. They also seek ways to improve supervision policies and approaches and prepare the department for future needs.
This position requires the Director to conduct a high degree of oversight, coaching, and development support. Directors are responsible for the growth and development of their leadership team and may take part in discussions and planning regarding associate development. Supervisory and personnel issues often involve areas that are gray and / or of a human resource nature and require thoughtful and well-documented approaches.
Additionally, Directors are routinely asked to represent the area to other areas of the firm, product vendors, industry regulators, and other key stakeholders. The Director is expected to support and implement significant department and / or division objectives and may at times be involved with or lead several projects in addition to their daily responsibilities. Directors often assist in the creation and implementation of new or revised policies and procedures.
The AECS Director role routinely involves navigating complex issues. This requires a detailed understanding of the regulatory issues and rules surrounding asset and communication supervision. Strong analytical and decision-making skills and the ability to be highly autonomous are critical. The position also requires strong communication skills as Directors must be able to deliver difficult messages and handle challenging situations with little to no General Partner involvement.
Compensation and Benefits
