Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Dept

Full-Time | 0.9 FTE| 12-hour Varied Shifts | plus weekend and holiday rotations

$7,500 Sign-on Bonus Available

ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24 / 7 / 365. ED provides meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks. There are lots of learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment and plenty of excitement. Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful. One to two years of inpatient med / surg or critical care experience is preferred.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role :

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual / psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and / or family and provides patient / family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

    • What we are looking for

    Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

    Additional requirements include :

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)
