Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Position : Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Location : Beaufort, SC (29902) – South Carolina nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Stepdown Employment Type : Travel / Contract Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 22 / 2025 – End : 1 / 21 / 2026) Nursing Shifts : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570 - $1680 Patient Ratio : 4 : 1 Unit Size : 21 beds, daily census of 18 EMR System : Meditech Weekend Coverage : Required Floating : Possible to similar or lesser acuity units within the hospital Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown or PCU nursing experience Active South Carolina RN license (required at time of submission) Travel nursing experience required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Experience with patient ratios of 4-5 : 1 Preferred : Experience with Meditech EMR Ability to float to similar or lesser acuity units Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from facility (locals not accepted) Clear background and RN licensure required Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac stepdown unit Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including non-titrating drips (Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, Cardene), vascular procedures, NSTEMI, post-cardiac cath interventions, and CIWA protocols Provide care for patients requiring peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, and home ventilators Perform wound care, administer nebulizer treatments, and coordinate with dialysis department for HD Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR Float to other nursing units as needed based on hospital requirements Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start Experience the best of South Carolina healthcare jobs in Beaufort while making a meaningful impact in cardiac patient care.
