Overview
Fryeburg Academy, a 700-student day and boarding high school in Western Maine and the Mount Washington Valley, seeks an innovative, student-centered Environmental Science teacher. This part-time position begins in January and involves teaching two classes during Semester II. The last three weeks of each school year are a stand-alone period called May Term, during which teachers offer non-traditional courses that focus on experiential learning or using knowledge in new contexts. This position involves teaching one May Term class.

A bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and developed, varied strategies for teaching science and experience with, or willingness to learn about, school-wide and state-wide science fairs.Preference will be given to candidates with experience in various educational settings.Experience working with students outside the classroom (e.g., tutoring, coaching, in a residential or camp setting, or as an activity advisor) is a plus.All Fryeburg Academy employees are subject to the Maine Dept. of Education Criminal History Record Check.Fryeburg Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
