PCOE’s role includes approval of local school district budgets to ensure sound fiscal operation, reviewing and approving Local Control Accountability Plan​​s (LCAPs), and developing professional development and educational opportunities for educators. In addition to providing services to local school districts, PCOE also operates educational programs that provide services directly to students such as special education programs for students with rare disabilities and alternative education programs for students who have been expelled or probation referred.

General Purpose

This Associate Manager - Early Childhood Education is responsible to the County

Superintendent and works under the direct supervision of the designated manager. The

Associate Manager - ECE assists with management, supervision, and implementation of local, state and federally funded programs serving young children and their families. These programs may include CalWORKs Child Care Stages 1, 2 and 3, Alternative Payment Programs, State Preschool, Head Start, Early Head Start, Quality Improvement Initiatives, Foster Bridge Child Care, Resource / Referral, Local Planning Council and other related programs and services. This is a Certificated Management position.
