Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with at least 2 years of adult and geriatric acute care experience for a day shift position in an acute care hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital environment covering ICU, step down, oncology, medical, surgical, neuro / tele, renal, renal / tele, and ortho unitsPatient population includes adults and geriatric patients requiring acute rehabilitationPrimary responsibilities include QD treatments throughout hospital floorsDay shifts with typical hours from 8 : 00 to 16 : 30, three 8-hour shifts per weekOccasional weekend shifts requiredNo floating outside of assigned units requiredUses EPIC for charting, EPIC experience requiredNo on-call duties requiredFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionCandidates must have facial hair shaved or trimmed to allow proper fit testing if requiredPewter scrubs are required as the dress codeNo RTO approved during the first week of the assignment; a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly encouragedPermanent former staff must wait one year before returning as a travelerAllied travelers may remain up to 12 months with a required 6 month break afterAll standard travelers residing outside the 75-mile radius may work for 18 months then must take a 3-month breakRequirements
Active PTA license in Missouri required; compact license accepted if applicableBLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of recent experience as a PTA in acute care hospital settingsExperience with adult and geriatric patient populations requiredExperience on multiple hospital units including ICU, step down, oncology, med / surg, neuro / tele, renal, and ortho requiredEPIC charting experience requiredNo local candidates accepted within a 75 mile radiusPending MO license accepted for consideration if applicableLicense required if applicableBenefits
