POSITION DESCRIPTION :

The Machine Operator aligns with manufacturing operations to achieve optimal production efficiency and effectiveness in support of the overall goals, objectives, mission and vision of the organization.

Safety Responsibilities :

Food Safety Responsibilities :

  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that finished goods and raw materials coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
  • Ensure equipment is food safe prior to going into production and after all repairs
  • Ensure proper chemical control protocol is followed at all times
  • Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and data documented correctly at all times.
  • Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality.

Responsibilities :

  • Operate assigned workstation(s) within quality and general procedural guidelines.
  • Package product according to specifications and guidelines.
  • Perform hourly quality checks.
  • Complete computer data entry, inspection logs and other documentation as required.
  • Assist in production changeovers and liner changes.
  • Clear auxiliary equipment and keep them free from jams and other issues.
  • Alert appropriate personnel of production related issues in an efficient manner. Communicate all important information including but not limited to quality concerns, equipment problems, safety issues, and others.
  • Maintain work areas and the general operation area in accordance with SAFE and GMP standards.
  • Follow all applicable guidelines and standards including but not limited to policies, procedures and practices.
  • Follow all safety and food safety guidelines always and take a proactive approach to safe working conditions.
  • Maintain familiarity with MSDS and other regulated material information, requirements and guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional, polite and courteous team approach in dealing with others and work in teams as required or requested.
  • Assist during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition from crew to crew.

    • PHYSICAL Requirements :

    Required to walk, sit and / or stand for computer or floor responsibilities. Substantial movements of the wrist, hands and / or fingers. Strong visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal and reading. May be required to reach with hands and arms. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive information and to prepare or inspect documents. As needed, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Frequently lifting 50 pounds.
