Travel Certified Surgical Technician (CST) – Operating Room – 8hr Days

Location : Carlsbad, NM

Duration : 13 weeks

Facility Size : 99 beds

Unit : 6 Operating Rooms

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1

Shift : Days, 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM, Mon-Fri, 5x8hr shifts

Call Requirements : Yes – 1 weekday per week minimum, weekend rotation; On-call shifts : Mon-Fri 3 : 30 PM – 7 : 00 AM, Sat-Sun 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 AM

EMR : MedHost (Inpatient), PICIS (OR)

Role Summary :

The Travel CST prepares the operating room, including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During procedures, CSTs pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon, manage surgical equipment, maintain the sterile field, handle specimens, and perform sponge and supply counts to prevent retained objects.

Requirements :

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through CAAHEP-accredited program & NBSTSA certification

BLS required

Experience with General, Ortho, OBGYN, Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, & Trauma procedures

Adult & Pediatric experience required
