POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Electro-Mechanic will perform proactive general maintenance required to maintain facilities and operating systems / equipment. This will be accomplished daily by completing assigned work orders, performing preventive maintenance, addressing general troubleshooting and equipment repair, undertaking scheduled project work, and fulfilling other duties and tasks as directed by supervisors. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial automation, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting, with a commitment to safety, quality, and minimizing downtime.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and electrical control panels.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues including wiring, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, relays, drives (VFDs), and circuit breakers.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Support equipment upgrades, new installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to solve process-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime, parts used, and completed repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), and ensure compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime. Complete all scheduled work orders, general to detailed preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to production and related equipment.
  • Regularly complete general housekeeping functions and other housekeeping projects as assigned.
  • Respond to operational calls and assist other technicians as needed.
  • Complete regular project work and other assignments / tasks as assigned by management, including but not limited to pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, lighting, plumbing, painting, carpentry, fabrication, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Complete all work orders in CMMS or other Engineering Management Software, help maintain inventory of parts / supplies and complete all other administrative requirements, trainings, etc.
  • Inspect building systems and equipment to ensure product quality and safety for staff.
  • Escalate any outstanding issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner and contribute to safety goals of plant by escalating any unsafe behaviors to management.
  • Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

    • QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.   • At least 3 years of working experience in maintenance and / or vocational training in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma.
  • An associate degree in an engineering discipline is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic system, welding, or metal fabrication techniques, consider a plus.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals and electrical diagrams for setting up control loops.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
