Manager (FHM)
The Danvers Housing Authority (DHA) is seeking a highly organized and initiative-taking individual for the position of Federal Housing Manager (FHM). The FHM performs all aspects of managing the Housing Choice Voucher Program, and seventy six units of public housing. The FHM provides essential rental resources to families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
Key duties involve evaluating applicant submissions, determining eligibility, selecting applicants from the appropriate waitlists, and performing annual recertifing cations to confirm continued
occupancy. The FHM also collaborates with landlords to maintain positive tenant-landlord
relationships, negotiates lease agreements, and coordinates housing quality inspections to
ensure compliance with safety standards. The FHM assists the Executive Director in drafting
policies and a pending repositioning effort.
Qualiications of the FHM includes excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with
diverse individuals, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, good problems
solving, knowledge of HUD policies, and discretion and care in handling confidential information.
A bachelors degree is required and at least 3 years or more of public housing or rental housing
experience is preferred.
The FHM reports to Executive Director. The position is in person and full-time (37.5) hours
per week. Salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 depending on experience. The DHA offers a
competitive benefit plan, including paid time off, health plans through the State of Massachusetts
Group Insurance Commission, vision and dental insurance, and an AFLAC plan. Employees of
the DHA participate in the Town of Danvers Contributory Pension Plan, a Massachusetts Public
Retirement System.
